[It confuses him so much to be apologised to for something like this, and he really isn't in any state of mind right now to sort through the minefield of potentially feeling sorry for someone who's murdered others.]
I don't know how much right I have to be disappointed right now.

[There's no clean cut and dry answer, but Al's used to that. So many things have huge grey areas and a line of morality that's so blurred it's almost invisible. He still doesn't know whether that makes Gabriel accountable for what he did or whether it absolves him somewhat because of a loss of control.
He reads through the whole thing four times, but he's still hardly closer to figuring out a proper response, he needs to ask more.]
Do you want to make amends now? Do you want to make up for what you've done?

[Wait here, John has said. Wait here, guard the Joker, and he will be back tomorrow after he's taken care of a blood transfusion.
If Sherlock heard the order, it's already forgotten, because he's dressed to go out pretty soon after John has gone, gesturing for Gabriel to follow.]
Come with me.

To the chapel.
[He completely ignores the comments about what John wanted, because there are more important things right now.]
I have a theory that needs testing, and it requires two people to do it. In this particular circumstance, you are the ideal second person.

[He learned a long time ago that things are very rarely simple, very rarely black and white.
He and Ed committed an atrocity, a sin that everyone should hate them for, but nobody did and they had not done it with cruel intentions. They have allies in Scar and Greed, both men who have killed, but both men with reasons and complexities that go beyond just their actions.
He can't ever condone what Gabriel has done, but perhaps he can help him move forwards to a better future.]
What are friends for?
[He'll never get better if someone doesn't extend the hand of friendship.]

[This is one of the things he appreciates about Gabriel, he's unflinching in the face of his role in this scenario and is willing to take that risk for science.]
I hope that neither of us will die; but yes, if that's the case, you are more expendable than John.
[Murderer versus trained doctor? Even without the sentiment, there's no contest.]
Several people have attempted to stay the night in the morgues before, and most have died. It seems that a person stands a better chance of survival if they are restrained and in a group of more than one. I hypothesise that the deaths are caused by some sort of guard creature which is released after dark, most likely a modified anomaly, and the eye app will work as a deterrent. Combining the three - restraint, group, and app, there's a strong chance that at least one of us will survive to observe exactly how the morgue drawers open and what's inside.

[He nods. It's already something he's thought of after analysing those videos, but it's good that Gabriel is thinking clearly too.]
We'll contact Greg when we're there to see if he can send you a copy of the eye app too, that will give you a better chance of survival. Not to mention that double the apps may confuse and damage the guard further.
