Never had anyone get attached to me before, so I guess so.

If he doesn't have enough for you to trade for it, I can chip in some more items. I want to see the craftsmanship on that thing.

[ Oh. Well, shit, that... sounds familiar. Royce doesn't answer for a while. ]

It's probably MN poisoning. I was manic, before. I don't usually get this way. [ Sigh. ] It doesn't matter. I'll survive.

Where are you headed, right now?

[ Yeah, there's not exactly a lot to help with it. At least Royce knows what it is, now. ]

East. Meeting back up with Al before he has a fit about missing me. [ Does he sound a little smug about that? ] Plus, he's got some injuries I'm most suited to handle.

I'm not going much of anywhere at the moment, though. I'm blind and traveling alone. It's a whole new 'adventure'.

Adventure is definitely a word for it.

Are you waiting the blindness out? Or is... Al coming to get you? [ Bluh. He's not going to be outwardly rude but Royce doesn't particularly like Al, much. ]

[ He chuckles at the tone as soon as Al comes up. ]

Sounds like you and the tin can don't get along too well. Not too surprised.

But- sort of? I know my way around the eastern part of the residential area, I've got the map memorized. So I'm just going house to house, heading to the convenience store, then try to make it over to the tunnels. I'm not going in there till the blindness is done with. Or I got some help, which is not gonna happen.

Not especially, no. [ Shounen heroes don't get along well with Royce. ] The way you're doing it sounds like you're making yourself bait for quiet anomalies.

Don't die again. I've heard losses stack.

Do they? Guess no one ever told House.

I'm being as careful as I can. Can't stay put too long here, after all.

House wouldn't care. [ Royce doesn't bother hiding the disdain and low-burn anger in his voice when he says House's name, either. ]

I figured you would be. You don't seem the type to take non-beneficial risks.

Yep. Pretty sure Not Existing is on his bucket list. Too bad we can't help him out with that.

[ Except not really. House is extremely useful and a huge loss if he stopped reviving. But he knows Royce doesn't care for the guy, so. ]

And thank you. Too many people don't seem to think I take the risks into account. But getting a couple days ahead is not worth running right into something with way too many eyes. Moving at a glacial pace sucks, but it's better than nothing. Even got a cane to keep me from tripping.

[ Royce hates House, sure, but he also sees the benefit of House existing. It's incredibly annoying to need someone so infuriating. He ignores House in favor of the second half. ]

Not safe to stay in one building, anyway. I'd do the same in your position, though I'm sure Solomons would throw a fit. [ Grumble, grumble. He does not recognize how much of a married couple this makes the two of them sound like. ] There are some here who have no sense of how to take care of themselves in overly dangerous situations, so they assume nobody else does either.

Sounds like he's not the only one forming an attachment.

We haven't talked prices. Might let him have it.

What can I say? The kid doesn't give up- he even outlasted my indifference. I was surprised, too.

Well, let me know if you change your mind there. If I can get my hands on that arm at some point, I'll owe you.

Ha. Guess so. And then there are those of us who put ourselves in dangerous situations before for reasons, and now we know how to deal with it.

Still, hope you're not doing the same anytime soon. You've got plenty on your plate right now, and no one wants Solomons throwing a fit.

[ He's not sure how it feels about that. On one hand, it could be useful. On the other, he was expecting better of Sylar. ]

[ He's been through it a few times to know it might take a few days. ]

Here's hoping I don't die any time soon, yes. [ Royce says dryly. ] And speaking of dangerous situations, we've got to move, so I have to go.

Watch your back. [ This is a joke, and it sounds that way. ]

Probably. If it turns out that way, I'll just burn everything down again.

[ He's good at that. He's honestly not even sure why he's giving Al a chance here. He just knows he wasn't able to get through a single conversation trying to push him away. ]

[ That gets an amused bark of laughter out of Sylar. ]

You too, buddy. Suspect you'll have a much easier time of it.

[ And with that, he'll cut the feed. He'll try to remember to check in with Royce in the future- funny, he never thought that'd be an issue and now there were a couple people to keep in touch with. He's not sure how to feel about that. ]

[ The burning everything down sounds much better. Not going to comment on it though. He's spent long enough being social and there were still a lot of bodies to move. ]

[ He does stare at his tablet a little longer after sending it. Later sounds like a promise of move conversations and he's not sure how he feels about that. ]

[ Sylar receives a video of Royce - or at least, a form of Royce. He's that same monster from before, a mix between a nazgul and a dementor and a sentient cloak. His hands are long claws, rusted knives that slide together horribly when he tries to grab the tablet. Royce ends up putting the tablet on the floor and hovering over it, bright yellow eyes the only thing visible from the void inside the hood.

He's already figured out he can't use words. Instead, he just growls low at the tablet, clacking his knife-claws on the screen. Answer, Sylar, he's back.

And he saw your post on the obituary. ]

[ Royce is the only one that could possibly get video out of him right now. The tablet's on the floor, and the shadowy figure of Sylar looms over it. His voice is deep and slow and monotone, just like when they met before. ]

Royce. You're alive. I was worried.

Welcome back.

[ Too bad about still being a monster. ]

Alive. [ Royce confirms. Just barely. If Sylar looks closely, he'll see blood all over Royce, on the fabric of the cloak that he is. The cloak monster curls up in a heap on the floor in a corner. hat's the only word he can manage. ]

[ Blood was not part of Royce's anomaly form, but even then it takes Sylar a long moment before he realizes it's anything but normal. Whatever remains of him starts putting together pieces, but he doesn't quite make it all the way. ]

I'm glad, for that.

Did you wake up hurt? You're not dying again.

[bywolves]

Not dying. [ Royce repeats. ] I'm not hurt. Not I'm.

[ He's starting to get the hang of making sentences out of what he has available to him, it's just that the tenses or specific words don't always work. ]
